An interview with the Gryffindors (Matt Lewis, Devon Murray, Oliver Phelps, and James Phelps)

Shrunken Head: How did you get your star parts? Matt: Umm I was pretty much the same (as James and Oliver), because I'm from Leeds (where the auditions were), so I was at the open audition as well. And I remember all the people queing up the stairs, and everyone was there with the Harry Potter books, and they'd put glasses on without lenses in. And I was just, I was just there with, I had the small CV (?), and I thought "okay I've got no chance at this, at all"
Shrunken Head: And how did they actually break this wonderful news to you?
Devon talks. Johnny:(human questioner): And how about you? Matt: Mine was about 2 or 3 days after the screen test. Suddenly my mom got a phone call and I just carried on playing, you know, and she just, I opened the door and said "who is it?" and she goes "its lynn from your agency" :oh okay, and well?" and she went and gave me the thumbs up and I just ran in the room and started jumping up and down. Johnny: If you could play any other characters in the film, who would you like to play? Matt: I guess a bad guy would be pretty cool, like Draco Malfoy, but I remember the first time I read, um, the Philosopher's Stone, I put my dressing gown on and started pretending to be Harry, running around the house. And I can't believe I just told you that. Johnny: Whats the strangest thing a fan has ever asked you?
Devon Answers Johnny: Have you had any bizarre things happen to you? Matt: Um somebody gave me a pepper at the Collectormania that we did. Johnny: The what? Matt:Collectormania. It was a signing event. And yea, somebody gave me a pepper *turning to James and Oliver* and you got something even stranger.
(couldnt resist putting this in) Oliver: Yea we got a bra.....with potatos in it..and yea James: Yea we're still trying to figure out what thats about
*more discussion on the bra* Johnny: Matt, your character Neville, they sort of clowned you up a bit for this film. What have they done to you because you looked a bit different when I was looking at some of the rushes there. Matt: Yea. Um there's the false teeth, which are all yellow and crooked and we've got the two sizes too big shoes.. Johnny:They're going for the big clown shoes. Matt: Yes.. Johnny: And there's something about the ears.... Matt: : Yea, they put plastic behind the ears to make them stick out more. Ha ha ha.
